Hempfinity's Guide to CBD
CBD is short for cannabidiol, which is a major cannabinoid found in cannabis.
CBD is absorbed naturally by the body’s endocannabinoid system which may help with things like pain and stress management, hormone regulation, immune function, and sleep.
Cannabinoids occur naturally in the body, so CBD oil has been known to be quite effective in dealing with several ailments and illnesses because the body naturally attracts and accepts them
CBD derived from industrial hemp carries many of the same positive effects of marijuana but is not psychoactive, so users will not feel the “high”.
CBD may assist with pain and inflammation reduction, encourages a sense of well-being and calmness, while reducing anxiety levels.
Many people have reported a boost in mental alertness and cognitive function. It also acts as an antioxidant solution to preserve vitality and health.
Hemp oil may also reduce blood sugar levels, risk of arterial blockages and nausea.
It is believed by the scientific community that whole-plant or full spectrum CBD hemp oil (rather than CBD isolate) is more beneficial for the body.
By retaining as much of the plant’s life force as possible it allows for a wider range of cannabinoids and terpenes and is more beneficial for the body as it creates a collaboration that works in conjunction with our body’s own endocannabinoid system.
This works to do several things such as affect multiple areas in the body, improve absorption, overcome defence mechanisms that may inhibit absorption and minimize unwanted side effects. This effect is called the “entourage effect”.
The simple answer is no.
An addiction to marijuana develops out of a person’s reliance on the psychoactive consequences of THC – the ingredient in the marijuana plant which causes “high”.
CBD comes from an entirely different plant – the hemp plant – that contains trace amounts of THC which is not enough to cause that effect.
An addiction to CBD is not possible.

What is Full Spectrum CBD?
Full spectrum CBD is an extract that contains all compounds found naturally occurring in the plant, including terpenes, essential oils, and other cannabinoids.
The full spectrum of cannabinoids, terpenes, and essential oils extracted from the plant work together to magnify the therapeutic benefits of each individual cannabinoid. This is commonly referred to as the “entourage effect”.
What is Broad Spectrum CBD?
Broad spectrum CBD is a bit of a mix between Full Spectrum CBD and CBD Isolate.
Like Full Spectrum CBD, the other compounds found within the plant are preserved in the extract; however, like CBD Isolate, THC is completely removed.
Because Broad Spectrum CBD contains multiple cannabinoids, it can deliver the enhanced benefits of the “entourage effect,” without the presence of THC.
What is CBD Isolate?
In scientific terms, an isolatee is the purest form of a compound, which is produced by singularly extracting that compound from its environment and isolating it from all other compounds.
With that being said, CBD isolate is the purest form of CBD, which is produced by removing all other compounds found in the plant including terpenes, flavonoids, plant parts, and other cannabinoids. CBD Isolate is typically extracted from Hemp, due to its low to non-existent THC-content.
