Does CBD affect your medication?

When you take any supplements while you’re already on medication, it is important to find out the possible impacts it may have. Many supplements have negative impacts on prescriptions because of the contradicting effects of the mix, so is this a concern with CBD?

Funny enough, CBD is very similar to grape fruit in the way that it interacts with medication which is why you may have heard of people purposefully not eating grapefruit before or after taking medication. Like grapefruit, CBD actually inhibits the liver from absorbing certain enzymes and in essence, affects the way that your body metabolizes certain medications. Although, the research on this is fairly minimal.

While CBD does impact the metabolizing of certain medications seemingly, limited research is available to determine whether it actually helps or inhibits the potency of other medications.

• Search for warnings or grapefruit similarities when purchasing CBD products
• Take CBD safely and at recommended doses that will either avoid impacting your medication or act as the standard dosage of intake for optimal results.
