CBD and THC are the two most commonly known components in the hemp or cannabis plant, yet some people do not know the difference. First of all, let’s differentiate CBD from THC and understand each one as an individual before we compare the two.
CBD is the cannabinoid responsible for most of the positive effects and benefits of cannabis. CBD does NOT produce a ‘high’ or intoxication like THC does.
THC is the chemical responsible for most of marijuana’s psychological effects. It acts much like the cannabinoid chemicals made naturally by the body. THC is said to affect a person’s memory, pleasure, movements, thinking, concentration, coordination, and sensory and time perception.
As you can see, the two vary quite dramatically, while still maintaining similar benefits and medicinal purposes. This means that where products state that they are CBD products, it means that it will NOT make you feel head intoxication nor will it make you ‘test positive’ for a drug test.
With this, we understand that CBD and THC are quite different, where THC provides benefits that wouldn’t otherwise be experienced with just CBD, likewise – CBD does not have the “head intoxicating” ability that THC might.
